Our program nutritionist, Anna Meister, recently visited our 4s classrooms and shared two recipes. One class made guacamole, and the other, black bean hummus. Our kitchen staff prepared the ingredients, and the children all got a chance to explore them and participate in making the recipes. See them in action in our video below.

Kayla, my intern, and I enjoyed sharing these recipes with the children and doing a hands-on food demo to celebrate National Nutrition Month with the theme of “Food Connects Us”. We also participated in a family-style lunch with classroom #6 and loved hearing about the healthy foods that the children like, such as the mandarins and corn with chicken that we ate together.
