Picture books are more than just good stories – they connect with young children on many levels. Children learn to make sense of the world, manage their feelings, understand others, use their imaginations, and start the process of literacy when picture books are part of their lives. Our classrooms use books in many ways. This winter, Classroom #3 used Ten Black Dots by Donald Crews as a springboard to the things they could make with ten black dots. Enjoy their artwork below, and take time for our read alouds of the book, in English and Spanish.
