The school year at Bloomingdale starts gradually, with half of the class coming with their parents for short sessions on two consecutive days. The third day of Phase In is 4 hours long, with all children in attendance. The fourth day is the full school day, including the afternoon rest time.
This gradual process allows the children to become comfortable with the teachers and their classmates. They learn what to expect each day. Separating from a parent at the start of the day may be a challenge, but as the children learn to trust the teachers and the classroom situation, it becomes easier.
