Every year, the school community comes together to celebrate our diversity of cultures. This year the celebration took place in our classrooms, with books read, art projects created, food eaten, and most importantly, parent visits to share their family cultures. One morning we had a wonderful visit from a group of Japanese volunteers, who shared paper folding activities and their traditional dress, sized for children. Look for that separate blog post soon.
The videos for the individual classrooms share the experiences of the week. Our video below features a few highlights from our photo session and recognizes the contributions over many years of Emily Alvarez, who started our celebrations many years ago.
