Recently, Brenda, Alba and Emma read a book to the children in Classroom #3. The book is Faces by Shelly Rotner. The children were very interested in the spread on faces wearing masks and they wanted to make their own. The teachers took out materials and the children made their masks and tried them on. This is an example of how the children participate in their own learning, jumping off from the book into exploring their own feelings about masks. Take a look at the process:
