Eleanor’s Bat Mitzvah Year

Eleanor and a friend say goodbye at end of volunteer visit

Eleanor Keohane celebrated her Bat Mitzvah year with a series of commitments to Bloomingdale. She came many times to volunteer in our classrooms, sometimes by herself and sometimes with her friend Phoebe. On one grand occasion, she brought many classmates to our site at W. 107th Street. They got to know the children, ate pizza with them, and then played for the afternoon, reading books and exploring play dough. Eleanor introduced many families to Bloomingdale, and asked that her Bat Mitzvah gifts be sent to us. Thank you, Eleanor, all the ways in which you have enriched us, including the gift of your presence.
