We have a long tradition of a special Fall day when Dads, Grandads or other family friends come in the morning and spend some time in the classrooms. You can see a previous “Dads Take Your Child to School” here.
Classrooms continued our “Dads Take Your Child to School” tradition virtually this year, using some special picture books. Classroom #3 read Quiero a mi papá porque…I Love My Daddy Because… by Laurel Porter-Gaylord. Only a few could attend the evening zoom, so they invited parents to attend a reading over Zoom in the classroom the next day. Classroom #5 read Spot Loves His Daddy/Spot ama su papá by Eric Hill and you can share those with a child here. Classroom #6 had a zoom session for children and parents that started with some elements of our circle time with a message board setting the stage. Children found objects starting with letters and showed them to the group and the session finished with a rousing rendition of “The Wheels on the Bus”. Take a peek at the fun in this video:
