The month of May brings one of Bloomingdale’s most treasured community events: Cultural Diversity Days! Parents join their children in exploring art and artifacts from many cultures, including clothing, dolls, and musical instruments. Families bring delicious food to share, and a lot of fun is had by all! Cultural Diversity Days are the brainchild of Emily Alvarez, a Bloomingdale graduate and long-time one-to-one play therapist. This year, teacher Jackie De Leon, co-chaired the event, and the entire staff works to make these days special. Thanks as well for the participation of Shoshana Vogel, from the Bloomingdale School of Music. Shoshana brings music to our classrooms during the year, and she brought her guitar and special presence to our Cultural Diversity Days.
The 2020 Cultural Diversity Days will be held May 14 and 15, 2020.
