Three Kings Day and the feast day of the Epiphany are both on January 6, twelve days after Christmas. They represent the day the Three Wise Men—Los Tres Reyes Magos—Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar gave gifts to the infant Jesus. In many Hispanic cultures, this is the day that children receive their gifts, rather than from Santa Claus on December 25.
Some households celebrate with a cake called Rosca de Reyes. This cake has some similarities with Louisiana King Cake but they are different. The Rosca de Reyes is an oval bread with dried fruit in the crust, and a baby Jesus figure baked inside. The person who finds the baby has to host a Candlemas Party on February 2.
