Last year, a lovely group of volunteers from NY de Volunteer visited our classrooms to share about aspects of Japanese culture. They introduced our 3s and 4s to their flag, Mt. Fuji, traditional clothing (yukata and happi coats), and the art of paper folding (origami) and paper cutting (kirigami). As you can see in our slideshow below, they interacted beautifully with the children and gently guided their understanding of the activities. Thank you, NY de Volunteer!
